How good is your memory? Keep an eye on the cards and remember where they were to collect the most pairs and win! Who needs to buy a game of memory with character pictures when you can play with a regular deck of cards. And Bonus! It’s a great way for kids to learn numbers too.
How to Deal
You’ll need one deck of regular playing cards. Shuffle the deck then lay the cards out in equal rows, face down. Depending on how young your kids are, you can play with less cards, just make sure you go through them first and pick an even number of pairs. For example, you can make a 4×4 grid using 16 cards (8 pairs) or a 6×6 grid using 36 cards (18 pairs).
How to Play
Let the youngest player start the game by choosing two cards to turn over (one at a time). If the cards match, they keep them and get another turn. If not, they must turn the cards back over (face down) and the next player gets to choose two cards.
The game continues with players turning over cards, keeping them if they match, turning them back over if they don’t, until all the cards have been paired up.
How to Win
At the end of the game, the player with the most pairs of cards is declared the winner!
