This October I made an Emmet costume from the Lego Movie for my boys to dress up as Emmet and Batman. It was hands down my most popular post of 2014. The best thing about making costumes is that they live on here in our house. Dressing up doesn’t end at Halloween, especially for my almost 3 year old who is really into dramatic play right now.
Yesterday we had our first snowy day here, and while that’s fun and exciting, playing in the cold didn’t last all day. I took a ton of pictures to write about all of the kid activities we did on a snow day (Like Bringing the Snow Inside), but alas, something went wrong with my memory card and I’m afraid they might be lost.
So, I thought I’d share one of the activities I do have a photo of.
Be a Master Builder any time with a DIY Lego Movie Emmet Costume
You can read the tutorial for how to make the Lego Movie Emmet costume here. My son had a great time dressing up as Emmet and pretending he was a Master Builder with his older brother’s Legos.

We really love simple play ideas here at my house and I’ll be sharing more throughout this month.
